Not to be confused with the uninspiring chaff that dubstep disciples are banging up these days. Loefah is importing his own brand of uncut heavy weight bass gear into the country this weekend. Check the bfm interview above.

Part of the DMZ crew from South London Loefah’s signature style is stark and moody. A true groove innovator Loefah is one of the more original producers connected to the dubstep scene.

Represented on Aphex Twin’s 2004 “Grime 2″ showcase along with Kode9 and Digital Mystikz clearly well before the term dubstep had settled as an often misleading genre tag. A lot of the tunes are neither dubby nor steppy…

In a recent interview Loefah revealed his production style (influenced by jungle) is moving away from dubstep. Anything but a dubstep purest Loefah hosted regular dancehall gig BASH with The Bug (Kevin Martin / Techno Animal / EAR).

Loefah released many landmark tunes between 2004 - 2007, either exemplifying or reinventing the dubstep sound. It’s been a long wait for those of us aching for a taste of Loefahs new medicine - about 18months… Word has it that the only way to hear many of his productions is by dubplate via a serious sound system. So i guess i’ll be seeing you at Zen on Sat’d. Word to the wise - get a presale for $20 or risk missing out.
